Narrative Description of Project:The specific objective of the project is to provide assistance to assist China in its efforts to restructure its financial financial service industry. This will be achieved by strengthening the regulatory and supervisory authorities in the fields of banking, securities and insurance.The consortium is responsible for achieving following targets: |
- Assist in upgrading the legal framework of the Banking, Insurance and Securities Sector in line with international commitments of China by providing policy advice for regulators and supervisory.
- Strengthen institutional structures and capacities for the three sectors by providing assistance for improved training methods and materials.
- Increase expertise on selected topics for high level and senior managers and participants via seminars, workshops, study tours and a China-EU Round-Table.
- Provide training to the banking, insurance and securities sector

Description of Actual Services Provided by your Staff:
- Development of Listing Standards for the Chinese securities markets
- Legal advise for securities legislation, supervision of funds and fund management companies
- Advice on the legal aspects of bankruptcy procedures for securities companies and funds
- Advice how to increase the transparency of companies through accounting, auditing, financial disclosure requirements? Advice on the handling of liquidation/bankruptcies of non-bank financial institutions (e.g. diagnosis)
- Review of methods for supervision ands regulation
- Compliance rules and corporate governance codes
- Advice on the broadening, deepening of the national local bond markets
- Development of institutional investment in the bond and equity markets
- Review European experience with co-operation with associations of securities companies, investment funds and the supervisors
